Soooooo......
You know how all new parents of baby boys have a little adventure with their son's firehose? Well, something really funny happened today. Nate attempted vertical urination and instead of hitting Julie hit himself in the face. Yeah, he didn't like that at all. Anyway, I thought you might find that funny.
...about our family and our life. We are four strong now trying to live our dreams.

Things are going well
Labor is progressing well now. Julie is resting comfortably with the aid of an epidural. Nathan's heartbeat is still very strong. I think that is all you want to know. I'll keep you updated.

King Kong
This post will basically deal with our experience with the movie we saw yesterday. Without a doubt, the special effects were outstanding and continuous. The movie was so loud that Julie put all our coats over her belly so that Nate wouldn't be scared. So in that respect the movie was great. You all need to go see it on the big screen. All those positive things aside, I really didn't like the movie and will probably never see it again. I just thought the story was boring. The dialog was sparse, we seriously went 45 minutes with a single line! The whole beauty and the beast thing was not believable, neither was the parallel love story with the playwrite. The film was way to long for the story. I strongly dislike Jack Black so that didn't help either. I guess I was just expecting too much from this film. I tend to expect a lot from Peter Jackson being such a big Lord of the Rings fan. Anyway, just thought I would let you all know what Julie and I thought about the film.

So here we are.......
After doing everything possible to get this baby to come - obviously nothing worked - we are here getting ready for plan B. Plan B is to do Plan A over again. If Plan B doesn't work then we add a c-section in at the end. So whatever happens, Nathan is coming on tuesday!!!!! It really sucked to come home last week without our little Nate in our arms. Our crib was empty, our infant seat had no functional purpose and Julie had to put her maternity clothes on again. OK, that all seems really petty but it was still a bummer. Here is the way I have chosen to look at the situation. Nate wanted me to finish finals without worrying too much about him and he wanted Julie to get over the little cold that she had. He is a very thoughtful little guy!!!!!

Unbelievable
We are home. And Nathan is STILL in utero. We were on drugs all day long and all night long. We even tried to break her water but we were not able to. We didn't progress near enough to get this baby out. So we are home resting and wating for labor to come on its own or to try again next week. If you know of anything that can trigger labor please offer your suggestions. Let me know if you have any questions or anything else.

Nathan's Birthday?!?!?!?!?!?!
Today we met with Julie's doctor. We were very nervous all day long and it drove us crazy!!!! So I guess I will cut to the chase..... Seeing that Nathan weighed approximately 7.1 lbs two days ago - by the way, the margin of error for that estimate is + or - 1 lb. So at worst that means that he might have weighed 8.1 lb on tuesday and if we go full term he has the potential to weigh in at a hefty 9.1 lbs. Ahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So we decided to induce labor on tuesday. Tueday Dec 13th is the most likely birthday of our first son. Yeah!!!!!
Julie is having issues with that date. She doesn't think it has a nice ring to it. I think one day is as good as the next. What do you think?

Baby Size
Well everybody. We had an ultrasound today to measure the baby. We will find out what Julie's Doctor wants to do on Thursday!!! The technician estimated his weight by measuring his head, his stomach, and his femur. He weighs approximately 7.1 lbs. He waved at us and it was really cute. We think he has chubby checks. We will update you on Thursday evening. Stay tuned!!!!
